Alexandra Leal (she/her) is a dynamic, mission-driven strategist and proud first-generation American with over five years of experience helping organizations grow, engage new audiences, and execute with impact. She specializes in designing innovative programs and events that enhance visibility, foster deeper community engagement, and drive tangible results.

Alexandra has successfully led a wide range of initiatives—from high-profile galas and grassroots donor campaigns to youth engagement programs and social media strategy. Her approach blends creativity with operational excellence, ensuring every project reflects the client’s vision while exceeding expectations.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in History of Public Policy & Law from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Outside of work, Alexandra enjoys reading the next book on her TBR list, experimenting with new recipes, and planning her next travel adventure.

Alvin Valverde Meneses (he/him) is an experienced operations and development professional with a strong background in political organizing, nonprofit leadership, and youth engagement. With over seven years of experience, he specializes in strengthening internal systems, leading strategic fundraising efforts, and building programs that empower the next generation of civic leaders.

At California Common Cause, Alvin plays a key leadership role on the California team, where he oversees statewide development initiatives, manages internal operations, and directs the organization’s student programs. His work focuses on driving organizational effectiveness while deepening community engagement across the state.

Before joining Common Cause in 2017, Alvin worked on several political campaigns, including serving as the Latinx Outreach Coordinator for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign in Philadelphia, PA.

He holds bachelor degrees in Media and Cultural Studies from the University of California, Riverside. Outside of work, Alvin enjoys discovering new coffee shops, exploring live music venues, and watching political documentaries.
